In the city's oldest marina, "Karabelinaya", is the Pacific Fleet Memorial Submarine Museum located inside a World War II S-56 submarine. The Submarine S-56 was built in 1936. S-type ships (Stalinist) were recognized as the most effective ships of World War II. This submarine sank 10 enemy ships in the war.
