| The space shuttle Discovery docked at the International Space Station on Wednesday, delivering Japanese astronaut Naoko Yamazaki and six other crew members. On the ISS, Yamazaki, 39, met up with Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi, 44, whose six-month mission comes to an end in June. It is the first time that two Japanese astronauts have worked together in space. The shuttle, which lifted off Monday as scheduled from NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center, is taking some 8 tons of supplies and experimental equipment to the space station during its 13-day mission through April 18. (AP) |
